Candlestick
A chart element showing the open, high, low and close of a period.
A candlestick sums up one period, usually a day, in a single symbol. The thick part (body) runs from the opening to the closing price; the thin lines (wicks) show the high and the low.
Green or light means the price closed higher than it opened; red or dark means it closed lower. Long lower wicks show that the price fell far during the day but recovered, which some investors read as a first sign of buying interest.
