WKN
The six-character German securities identification number.
The WKN (Wertpapierkennnummer) is a six-character identifier issued in Germany, for example 716460. It predates the ISIN and is still widely used there.
Either number is enough to buy a security. The ISIN is unique worldwide and also works with foreign brokers; the WKN is mainly known to German banks and brokers.
