Dip (pullback)
A clear price drop from the recent high, measured from the 6-week high for shares.
A dip is a pullback: the price is clearly below its recent high. DipCatcher measures it from the 6-week high for shares and from the 30-day high for coins. A drop of at least 7 % counts as a real dip.
A dip is not a loss and not an opportunity in itself. What matters is why the price is falling and whether the fall is coming to a halt. That is what DipCatcher analyses with the score, floor signs and the traffic light. "Buy the dip" does not mean buying every drop.
